Water quality in food service is an invisible but decisive factor for profitability, food safety, and the durability of commercial equipment. Poorly treated water directly affects the taste of coffee, tea infusions, and ice cubes, and is one of the main causes of limescale breakdowns in commercial dishwashers, combi ovens, and refrigeration equipment. In this specialized category, you will find professional water treatment solutions designed to protect your investment and guarantee consistent results.
We offer everything from commercial water softeners that eliminate encrusting limescale and extend the lifespan of machinery, to commercial reverse osmosis systems to obtain high gastronomic quality oligomineral water, not forgetting refrigerated water fountains for institutions and high-consumption businesses. Incorporate advanced filtration technology to comply with health regulations, reduce maintenance costs, and offer a top-quality final product to your customers.

Ensuring safe and continuous hydration is essential in staff canteens, offices, gyms, hotels, and buffet areas. In this category, you will find professional water fountains designed for heavy-duty use, manufactured in stainless steel and prepared for high-rotation environments. This equipment allows offering quality water consistently, reducing bottle consumption and improving the user experience.
The commercial refrigerated water fountains incorporate activated carbon filtration systems that eliminate chlorine, odors, and unwanted tastes, supplying natural, chilled, or sparkling water instantly. We have compact and functional countertop models, ideal for complying with health regulations in public spaces and guaranteeing an efficient, sustainable, and safe service.
Cold and purified water for institutions.
Limescale in water is one of the main enemies of commercial kitchen equipment and the most frequent cause of premature breakdowns. Commercial water softeners eliminate calcium and magnesium through ion exchange resins, preventing scale buildup in commercial dishwashers, espresso machines, and combi ovens, and significantly extending their lifespan.
We offer softeners with volumetric valves, which regenerate according to actual water consumption and offer greater efficiency, as well as chronometric models for installations with stable demand. These systems allow reducing detergent consumption, improving the thermal performance of the equipment, and avoiding costly repairs, being an essential solution for any professional kitchen seeking reliability, savings, and regulatory compliance.
Total protection against limescale and breakdowns.
When conventional filtration is not enough, our commercial reverse osmosis systems guarantee pure water free of impurities. Using semi-permeable membranes, they eliminate up to 99% of salts, sediments, bacteria, and other contaminants, offering superior quality water for hospitality and institutions.
This technology is essential for commercial ice makers, ensuring crystal-clear and chlorine-free ice cubes; specialty coffee machines, preserving coffee aromatic profiles; and glasswashers and commercial dishwashers, guaranteeing sparkling tableware and glassware without the need for manual polishing. Equip your business with professional reverse osmosis to maximize hygiene, prolong the life of your machinery, and offer the best final product to your customers.
Pure water for crystal clear ice and gourmet coffee.
The softener ONLY eliminates limescale (calcium and magnesium) replacing it with sodium, protecting machines but leaving the water with a certain salty taste. Reverse osmosis removes limescale and also filters heavy metals, chlorine, bacteria, and sediments, producing pure water ideal for drinking or making ice, but wastes water in the process.
If the water in your area is hard (>15-20ºfH), it is absolutely essential. Without it, injectors will clog, the heating element will be covered in limescale (wasting more electricity), and dishes will come out white and opaque. Most manufacturer warranties are voided by limescale damage.
It is the "brain" of the softener that measures the water passing through. Unlike chronometric ones (which regenerate by time, wasting salt unnecessarily), the volumetric one only regenerates when X liters of water have passed, saving a lot of salt and water.
It depends on usage and water quality, but per health standards, it is recommended to change sediment and activated carbon filters every 6 months or 1 year maximum to prevent bacteria proliferation inside the cartridge.
Ice comes out white due to impurities and limescale in the water. To get a solid and crystal-clear cube (gourmet type), you need an ice maker fed by osmotic or very low mineralized water.
Technically it is potable, but not ideal gastronomically. By removing calcium and adding sodium, it has a slightly salty taste and may not be recommended for low-sodium diets. For drinking, it is better to install a reverse osmosis or carbon filtration system after the softener.
The main thing is to always keep the salt tank with specific salt tablets. Additionally, once a year a technical check is recommended to clean the injector, verify output hardness, and sanitize resins.
Most modern models with electronic valves do need a standard plug (230V). Hydraulic models exist that work with water pressure, but they are less common and offer fewer configuration options.
To produce pure water, the osmosis membrane needs to be cleaned continuously. For every liter of pure water generated, the system discards an amount (reject) to the drain with concentrated impurities. Modern commercial equipment has greatly optimized this ratio.
Combi ovens are very sensitive. Ideally, use osmotic or demineralized water. If you use only softened water, make sure to control chlorides very well, as softened water can be corrosive to the stainless steel chamber at high temperatures if not treated well.
At MBH, we are experts in water quality. We analyze the hardness of your area and recommend the exact equipment you need, whether it is a softener to protect your washing line or osmosis for your high-end coffee machine. We have spare parts for resins, filters, and membranes to ensure long-term maintenance.
Water treatment encompasses all physical and chemical processes aimed at improving mains water quality for food or technical use. In hospitality, it focuses mainly on two fronts: softening (removing limescale to protect machines) and purification (removing flavors, odors, and particles for drinking or cooking), using technologies such as ion exchange and reverse osmosis.
Investing in water quality has a direct return. Great savings on repairs are achieved, as it prevents limescale breakdowns in coffee machines and ovens; lower chemical consumption, reducing detergent use by up to 50%; an improvement in final product quality (coffee, tea, and ice); and greater energy efficiency, avoiding scale buildup on heating elements.
